07/29/2026, 12:36OJSC ‘Kyrgyzstan National Electricity Grid’ has entered into a sub-loan agreement with the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic for €9.2 million. The transaction has been classified as a major transaction involving a conflict of interest.
The agreement was concluded on 17 July 2026 in accordance with Order No. 444-t of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated 17 June 2026, as part of the ‘Digitalisation of the Electricity Supply’ investment project.
The allocated funds are earmarked for a specific purpose. The company will use them to purchase self-supporting insulated wires (SSIW), as well as to procure and install modern electronic electricity metering devices (ASKUE) – ‘smart’ meters – in distribution networks.
The implementation of the project will enable the modernisation of elements of the electricity grid infrastructure, improve the efficiency of electricity consumption metering, and introduce digital solutions into the electricity supply system.
