Former head of a rural district detained over public procurement – losses amount to nearly 6 million KGS

In the Naryn region, the former head of a rural district has been detained in connection with a case involving irregularities in public procurement. The loss to the budget is estimated at 5,699,000 KGS.

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has reported the detention of the former head of the Ormon-Khan Aiyl Aimaq in the Kochkor District.

According to the investigation, in 2025, during the conduct of public procurement under the leadership of the official ‘A.B.K.’, violations of the requirements of the laws ‘On Accounting’ and ‘On Public Procurement’ were committed. As a result, damage amounting to 5,699,000 KGS was caused to the state budget.

On 31 March 2026, the suspect was detained as part of a criminal case initiated under the article on abuse of office and placed in the temporary detention centre of the Naryn City Internal Affairs Department.
