Exports of Kyrgyz jams and marmalade fell by 58 per cent over five months

Between January and May 2026, Kyrgyzstan exported 34.5 tonnes of jams, jellies, marmalade and fruit-and-nut purée, worth $187,200. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of exports fell by 58.4 per cent.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, in the first five months of 2025, the country exported 83 tonnes of these products, worth $193,400.

Despite the sharp decline in physical volume, the value of exports fell only slightly — by 3.2 per cent in dollar terms and by 3 per cent in som terms. In the statistics, this is reflected as 96.8 per cent and 97 per cent, respectively, of last year’s level.

Russia remains the main buyer of Kyrgyz jams and marmalade. In January–May 2026, 34.5 tonnes of products worth $187,100 were supplied to that country, accounting for virtually the entire export of this product group.

Small consignments were also sent to Kazakhstan — worth $100 — and to the United Arab Emirates — worth less than $100.
