In Bishkek, a fine of 1,000 soms will be imposed for travelling without a ticket

From 1 July 2026, the municipal enterprise ‘Bishkek City Transport’ will be carrying out spot checks on public transport in Bishkek. Inspectors will check not only whether a fare has been paid, but also whether passengers have an electronic or paper receipt confirming payment by bank card, QR code or other alternative method.

According to the municipal enterprise, passengers who have not paid their fare may face administrative penalties. The fine for travelling without a valid ticket is 1,000 soms.

‘Bishkek City Transport’ has urged passengers to pay their fares in good time and to keep their ticket or receipt until the inspection is complete.
