E-commerce in Kyrgyzstan Could Grow Three to Four Times

E-commerce penetration in the country stands at about 5%, while in Kazakhstan this figure reaches 17%. This was stated by Tilik Suleimanov, director of Wildberries in Kyrgyzstan, while speaking at Ecomday 2026, an event for Wildberries marketplace sellers.

According to Suleimanov’s assessment, the Kyrgyz market could grow three to four times in the short term. However, the development of online commerce will depend on infrastructure, delivery speed, the availability of payment methods, and the range of products.

“If we look at neighboring Kazakhstan, e-commerce penetration there is already at least 17%. This means that we can grow three to four times in a short period of time—that’s the short-term outlook,” he said.

Suleimanov identified the expansion of the network of pickup points as one of the key areas for market development. According to him, the company must not only open new locations in the regions but also increase the turnover of existing pickup points. Another priority is reducing delivery times.

“We must be accessible to every user—that is, offer more installment payment options and enable users to make purchases. To be closer to everyone, which means expanding our product range and our network of pickup points across the country,” noted the head of Wildberries in Kyrgyzstan.

He considers the expansion of offerings from local entrepreneurs to be an additional growth factor. The more products available on the market, the more opportunities buyers have to choose products, and the more opportunities manufacturers have to find new customers.

Suleimanov also linked the prospects for e-commerce to the country’s overall economic growth. According to him, an increase in purchasing power can contribute to market expansion, and entrepreneurs who start developing online sales early will have the opportunity to carve out their own niche.
