Energy from waste: mayors and akims from the regions visited the capital's eco-plant

In Bishkek, on the territory of the sanitary landfill, an introductory tour of the eco-technological plant for the production of electricity from solid household waste was held for the president's authorized representatives in the regions, akims, and mayors of cities.

The tour was led by Ramiz Aliyev, deputy mayor of Bishkek, who presented modern technological solutions in the field of waste processing and electricity generation to the participants.

During the visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the plant's activities, the waste processing cycle, the environmental safety system, and the innovative solutions used in production. The tour participants were provided with detailed information about the plant's design capacity, the waste disposal system, and the amount of electricity generated as a result of solid waste processing.

For many years, the capital has faced serious environmental challenges: up to 1,500 tons of waste were transported to the landfill every day, and there was no comprehensive solution to the problem. The construction of the first eco-technological plant in Central Asia was an important step in addressing waste management issues and improving the environmental situation in Bishkek.

The total investment in the project amounted to $95 million. The project provides for the processing of up to 365,000 tons of waste per year, as well as the launch of a 30 MW condensing turbine power plant.

Today, the plant is capable of processing up to 1,000 tons of waste per day, with a subsequent phased increase in capacity.
