High-ranking police officers in the Pervomaisky district detained for bribery

The deputy head of the Internal Affairs Directorate and the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate's Operational and Investigative Department in the Pervomaisky district have been detained for accepting bribes.

The State Committee for National Security, as part of a criminal investigation, established that officials from the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek had extorted money. Acting in collusion, they initiated criminal proceedings against Kyrgyz citizen A.M.M.

Subsequently, using an intermediary in the person of legal representative K.A.T., they demanded $30,000 from the victim's son, M.U.M., to drop the criminal case.
Later, M.U.M. transferred part of the extorted amount, $20,000, to K.A.T., who, in order to give the appearance of legality to her actions, left the money at one of the currency exchange offices in the capital for subsequent transfer to officials of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Department.

Based on confrontations and other investigative actions, the deputy head of the Pervomaisky District Internal Affairs Directorate, A.N.A., and the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate's Operational-Investigative Department, A.I.A., were detained and placed in the GKNB's temporary detention facility. Investigative measures are currently ongoing to identify other persons involved.
