The EU is ready to invest in Kyrgyzstan's infrastructure

The European Union is considering investing in major infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan. This became known during the meeting of Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev with European Commissioner for International Partnership Josef Sikela, held on 17 March 2025.

The key topic of the talks was economic co-operation, in particular EU investments in strategic projects in Central Asia. The Kyrgyz side expressed readiness to promote such initiatives, especially in the areas of digitalisation, environmental programmes and human capital development. Strengthening co-operation with the EU opens new opportunities for economic growth, Kulubayev said.

The EU also reaffirmed its interest in strengthening economic co-operation with Kyrgyzstan and supporting initiatives aimed at sustainable development in the region. The meeting was held in a spirit of open dialogue, which underlines the high level of cooperation between the parties.
