05/09/2025, 11:58In January-February 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported jewellery worth 119.7 million KGS (1.37 million dollars), which is 21% less than in the same period last year. At that time, the volume of supplies amounted to 151.7 million KGS (1.7 million dollars). The decline in demand is observed against the backdrop of currency fluctuations and rising prices for premium goods.
Italy became the main supplier of jewellery, accounting for more than half of imports: 62.5 million KGS (715,000 dollars), compared to 12.0 million KGS a year earlier. Supplies from Turkey (16.4 million som) and Spain (320,800 som) also increased, while volumes from China, India and the UAE fell sharply.
Imports from China decreased from 78.2 million to 9.3 million KGS, and from India from 9.9 million to zero. Supplies from Thailand, the UAE and India ceased completely. At the same time, countries that did not participate last year, such as the UK and France, appeared in the import list, but their share is still insignificant.
The volume of supplies from Russia also decreased: from 25.1 million to 21.4 million KGS. Against this backdrop, Uzbekistan unexpectedly became more active, exporting jewellery worth 2.1 million KGS. Despite the overall decline, the structure of imports is shifting towards European manufacturers.
