Drip irrigation is one of the most effective water-saving technologies. It can reduce water consumption by 50-70%, increase crop yields, reduce soil salinisation and ensure accurate, uniform moistening of the plant root system.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry is encouraging farmers to make wider use of such water-saving technologies. It is noted that this is important in the context of climate change and limited water resources.
