Farmers are reluctant to take out preferential loans for livestock farming

In the seven months since the launch of the project ‘Kyrgyz Republic Asyl Tukum Mal Charbasyn Onukturu’, farmers have used only 0.01% of the allocated funds.

According to data from the Ministry of Finance, after the programme was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in March 2025, state support was provided for the purchase of elite breeding livestock. A total of 1 billion 849.56 million KGS was allocated.

Farmers can obtain this money through state banks, and as of 25 September 2025, 52 entities in the republic had been provided with preferential loans totalling 187.63 million KGS under this project.

Thus, in the nearly seven months since the project's launch, only 0.01% of the total amount has been utilised. This may be due to low interest on the part of farmers or their lack of awareness.
