Financial intermediation in Kyrgyzstan is strengthening

At the end of 11 months of 2025, financial intermediation indicators in Kyrgyzstan showed steady growth. The ratio of banking sector assets to GDP increased to 64.4% from 53.5% at the end of 2024, indicating an expansion of the role of banks in the country's economy.

Lending activity also intensified. The share of loans in GDP rose to 26.7%, compared to 22.4% a year earlier. This indicates growth in financing of the economy and increased involvement of banks in supporting businesses and the population.

At the same time, the deposit base increased. The ratio of deposits to GDP reached 44.8% compared to 38.9% at the end of 2024. The cumulative growth of all indicators reflects the deepening of financial intermediation and the strengthening of the banking sector's position in the Kyrgyz economy.
