01/17/2025, 14:44Today, 16 January, the Deputy Mayor of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Azygaliev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey Ahmet Sadik Dogan and representatives of the international fund ‘Maarif’. The main topic of discussion was the development of bilateral relations, including in the educational sphere.
At the meeting, representatives of the Maarif Foundation said that in the near future it is planned to invest $2.5 million in the schools transferred to the Foundation after the reorganisation of the Sapat network of educational institutions. The funds will be used to improve the material and technical base, repair buildings and modernise the educational process. The fund also plans to attract the best foreign teachers to improve the level of education.
Deputy Torag said that quality education should remain a priority in the fund's activities. ‘The transfer of management should not negatively affect the educational process. I am confident that Maarif will contribute to the improvement of education, applying both international and national standards,’ Nurlanbek Azygaliyev emphasised.
Representatives of the fund assured that the educational process is not interrupted, and explanatory work is being carried out among teachers, students and their parents. In addition, additional funding is planned for the long-term development of schools, which will strengthen educational ties between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
