The document was developed by the Scientific Research Institute for Prospective Urban Development, one of Russia's leading design and architectural centres specialising in spatial planning, urban zoning and land use planning.
Deputy Mayor of the capital Azamat Kadyrov noted the need to strengthen cooperation between city services and the institute's experts to ensure the timely and high-quality preparation of the project.
The institute's specialists are currently collecting data on social, transport, economic, land and property, environmental, and architectural and engineering issues. The project will be implemented in two stages, and the main document required for the approval of the General Plan is scheduled to be prepared by the second half of November 2025.
It should be noted that the NII PG was established in 1992 on the basis of the LenNIIP Urban Planning Institute and has more than 60 years of experience in the field of urban planning. Throughout its history, the institute has prepared more than 700 approved urban planning projects at the federal and regional levels. Today, the NII PG is implementing innovative approaches, including digital methods of spatial analysis, which allow for the formation of comprehensive and sustainable urban development strategies.
On the Kyrgyz side, the work is being supervised by the Department of Individual Housing Construction and Urban Planning of the Bishkek City Hall.
