05/20/2025, 14:03On 20 May, the Constitutional Legislation Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved in the first reading a draft constitutional law amending the law ‘On the Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic’.
According to the amendments, the General Prosecutor's Office will be officially established as the keeper of the Unified Register of Crimes. It will also compile summary statistics on crimes and transmit data to other agencies in accordance with the established procedure.
As explained by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Erke Bek Ashirkhodzhaev, the amendments are aimed at optimising the work of state bodies and strengthening digital transformation in the field of law enforcement.
The draft law has so far only been adopted in the first reading.
