Prices at hotels and restaurants have risen by almost a quarter

Between January and August 2026, the cost of paid services in Kyrgyzstan rose by 11.4 per cent. Hotels and restaurants accounted for the largest share of this increase, with prices in this category rising by 22.8 per cent.

According to statisticians’ estimates, hotels and restaurants contributed 1.43 percentage points to the overall rise in prices. Several factors simultaneously influenced the cost of services: rising food and utility prices, increased staff costs and seasonal demand.

This was particularly evident in August, when the tourist season in Kyrgyzstan was at its peak. The additional demand was felt, amongst other places, in the resort areas of Issyk-Kul.

At the same time, the value of services provided by hotels and restaurants over the eight-month period rose by 9.0 per cent to 42.8 billion KGS. In other words, the sector simultaneously demonstrated growth in turnover and a significant increase in the cost of services for consumers.
