The government intends to raise 600 million KGS on the domestic market

On 18 September, the Ministry of Finance, through the National Bank, will hold auctions for the placement of government treasury bonds (GTBs). Through these, the government plans to raise 600 million KGS from the domestic market.

Of this amount, the Ministry of Finance intends to raise 350 million KGS over a three-year term. These bonds carry a coupon rate of 5 per cent per annum. Redemption is scheduled for 21 September 2029.

A further 250 million KGS is planned to be raised for a 10-year term. The rate on these bonds will be 8 per cent per annum, and they are due to be redeemed on 21 September 2036.

GKO are government securities that investors purchase, effectively lending money to the state. In return, the state pays them interest at a fixed rate and repays the principal amount on the maturity date.
