02/16/2026, 13:59In 2026, funding for Kyrgyzstan's state television and radio companies will increase to 1.67 billion KGS — 164.2 million more than last year's approved budget.
The bulk of the funds, 1/58 billion KGS, will be allocated from the republican budget. This is 11.4% more than a year ago. Another 90.9 million KGS will be provided from special accounts.
The largest recipient of funds remains the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation, whose expenses will reach 1.15 billion KGS, of which more than 1.07 billion will come from budget allocations. Regional television and radio companies under the NTRC will receive 132.7 million KGS, and the Mir television channel will receive 77.1 million KGS.
The most significant growth is expected for the state television and radio company ElTR. Funding will increase to 309.3 million KGS, which is almost 100 million more than last year's level.
Thus, the state continues to strengthen its support for traditional television broadcasting, despite the accelerating shift of audiences to digital and online media.
