11/04/2026, 11:44The development of transportation, energy, and digital connectivity—including through the use of artificial intelligence—will be one of the main areas of cooperation among Central Asian countries. This was stated by UN representative and SPECA Executive Secretary Armida Alisabada at the SPECA Economic Forum, which is taking place in Bishkek.
According to her, the countries of Central Asia share common geographical and economic characteristics, in particular their landlocked status. Therefore, strengthening ties among the region’s states is of particular importance for the development of trade and the expansion of economic opportunities.
One of the priorities should be the more effective use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to develop transportation routes, digital services, and energy cooperation.
“The main goal we are discussing today is to strengthen ties between countries based on new technologies emerging on a global scale. First and foremost, this concerns transportation, digital technologies, and energy. It is important to make more effective use of the capabilities of artificial intelligence so that cooperation among Central Asian countries becomes closer and more fruitful,” she noted.
Armida Alisabada paid special attention to the development of trade ties not only among the Central Asian states but also with other regions, particularly Southeast Asia and Europe.
According to her, tourism is also a promising area for cooperation. The countries of Central Asia have significant tourism potential, and the development of transportation and digital infrastructure can help increase tourist flows.
