Coffee imports into Kyrgyzstan have more than tripled

Between January and May 2026, Kyrgyzstan imported 493.8 tonnes of coffee worth $5.5 million. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports has more than tripled.

According to foreign trade statistics from the National Statistics Committee, 493.8 tonnes of coffee worth $5.54 million were imported into Kyrgyzstan during the first five months of 2026.

Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports stood at 309 per cent of the 2025 level. In value terms, imports rose by 320.1 per cent in soms and 319.4 per cent in dollars.

Russia remains the largest supplier of coffee, with 319.9 tonnes worth $3.05 million imported from there during the reporting period. Significant volumes of imports also came from Kazakhstan – 72.8 tonnes worth $1.46 million, Brazil – 44.7 tonnes worth $436,600, and Colombia – 41.2 tonnes worth $398,100.

Between January and May 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported 159.8 tonnes of coffee worth $1.73 million. Over the year, the volume of imports increased by 209 per cent, whilst the value of imports rose by 220.1 per cent in som terms and by 219.4 per cent in US dollar terms.
