Imports into Kyrgyzstan exceeded exports by almost six times

According to figures from the National Statistics Committee for January–March 2026, Kyrgyzstan’s exports amounted to $482.9 million. Compared with the same period last year, this figure fell by $75.2 million.

At the same time, the bulk of Kyrgyz exports continues to go to CIS and EAEU countries.

Exports to CIS countries amounted to $329.7 million, or 68.3% of the total volume of shipments. A year earlier, this figure stood at $368.9 million.

Kyrgyzstan exported goods worth $262 million to EAEU countries. The union’s share of the country’s total exports stood at 54.3%. Compared to last year, export volumes to the EAEU also fell.

Imports to Kyrgyzstan during this period amounted to $2.87 billion, compared with $2.94 billion a year earlier. Despite the overall decline in imports, shipments from CIS and EAEU countries increased.

Goods worth $1.27 billion were imported into Kyrgyzstan from CIS countries — $128.7 million more than last year’s level. The CIS’s share of total imports reached 44.5%.

Imports from EAEU countries amounted to $1.07 billion, or 37.5% of the total import volume. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of trade within the union also increased.
