Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover fell by almost $141 million

According to figures from the National Statistics Committee for January–March 2026, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover stood at $3.35 billion. This is $141.4 million less than in the same period last year.

Despite the overall decline in foreign trade, trade volumes with CIS and EAEU countries increased.

Thus, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with CIS countries reached $1.6 billion, an increase of nearly $90 million compared to last year. The share of CIS countries in the republic’s foreign trade stood at 47.9%.

Kyrgyzstan traded $1.33 billion with EAEU countries. This is $34.8 million more than a year earlier. The share of the union’s countries in foreign trade turnover stood at 39.9%.

A decline in total foreign trade turnover alongside growth in trade within the CIS and the EAEU may indicate a reduction in trade with other countries and an increase in Kyrgyzstan’s regional economic dependence.
