05/23/2026, 18:41A queue of 270 lorries has formed on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the border near the Ak-Tilek border crossing. This was reported by the Kyrgyz authorities.
According to official data, the checkpoint continues to operate as normal, and no reduction in throughput has been recorded on the Kazakh side.
The authorities attribute the build-up of traffic to an increase in export shipments from Kyrgyzstan. It is noted that the increase in traffic is seasonal in nature and is linked to the export of domestic products.
The relevant authorities in Kyrgyzstan are currently monitoring the situation and liaising with the Kazakhstani side to exchange information.
As of 23 May 2026, 270 lorries are queuing to pass through the checkpoint.
