    2,170 students expelled from Batken State University

    The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) reported that 2,170 students had been expelled from Batken State University (BatSU) and its structural subdivisions. The measure was taken following an inspection that revealed violations of attendance rules and disregard for the requirements of universities and colleges.

    According to the State Committee for National Security, the expulsions affected:

    • the main institution of BatSU — 570 students;
    • the Kyzyl-Kii Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute named after M.M. Taiyirov — 801;
    • Kyzyl-Kiy Institute of Technology, Economics, and Law — 380;
    • Sulyukta Humanitarian and Economic Institute named after A.A. Mashrabov — 171;
    • Multidisciplinary College at BatGU — 234;
    • College of Pedagogy and Communications at BatGU — 14.

    The GKNB continues to work to identify and suppress corruption and other illegal activities in the education system.
