The maiden flight took place on 16 July. The new route will enable residents of the two regions to travel between them more quickly, without the need for connections or lengthy journeys by road.
The launch of air services between Issyk-Kul International Airport in Tamchy and Batken is aimed at developing domestic tourism, improving transport links between the regions and expanding opportunities for residents of remote areas.
Flights will operate once a week – every Thursday – throughout the summer tourist season.
One-way airfares start at 6,500 KGS. The new route will serve as an additional transport link between the southern and northern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
