Contractor ordered to rectify defects on the Osh–Nookat road within three days

Defects in the asphalt concrete surfacing have been identified on a section of the Osh–Nookat road. Following an inspection, the contractor was issued with a directive to rectify the defects within three days.

Specialists from the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control and the Southern Regional Directorate of the Republican Centre for Construction Certification, under the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services, carried out an on-site inspection of the road section using a mobile laboratory.

The inspection took place on a section of road running along Mamyrov Street in the city of Osh, at the 3–4-kilometre mark in the direction of Osh. Core samples were taken and laboratory tests carried out to assess the quality of the road surface.

Following the results of the inspection, a report was drawn up and an order issued to the main contractor – Road Maintenance Department No. 21 (RMD-21) of the state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzavtozhol’ – requiring the reconstruction of the section that did not meet the established requirements.

The contractor has been given a three-day deadline to rectify the identified deficiencies and bring the road surface into compliance with regulatory requirements.
