08/30/2024, 11:04Today, August 30, President Sadyr Zhaparov, speaking at the opening of the Terek-Tash clinker plant in Kemin district of Chui region, emphasized the importance of building 100 industrial and social facilities for the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast. According to him, this is a historically significant event for the entire country, which will have a positive impact on its economic development.
As part of the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast, which began the history of modern Kyrgyzstan, the country will implement major infrastructure projects such as the construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydroelectric power plant and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad. These projects are aimed at creating economic conditions that will significantly increase the country's investment potential and stimulate its economic growth.
Sadyr Zhaparov also noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has significant hydropower potential, and one of the priorities will be to increase production of electricity in order to reduce its imports and provide the domestic market. In the future, it is planned to include electricity in the list of export commodities.
The President said that over the past three years the country's economy has demonstrated stable development: the average growth rate of gross domestic product has not fallen below 7%. According to the results of January-July 2024, the growth rate of the economy amounted to 8.7% and GDP reached 677 billion soms. The country's budget has also doubled during this period, amounting to 577.2 billion KGS in 2023, and this figure is expected to exceed 650 billion KGS by the end of 2024.
Among the new facilities to be opened under this project, the President noted the Isfairam-1 and Kurak-Tektir small HPPs, the Kara-Bulak trade and logistics zone, a meat processing plant and a construction materials plant in Naryn, as well as oil refineries and gold extraction plants in various regions of the country. In addition, new educational infrastructure will be created, including schools, kindergartens and gyms.
