10/09/2025, 15:10At the Kyrgyzstan Health Forum held on 9 October in Bishkek, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov announced that the state plans to increase funding for healthcare almost threefold, from 44 billion KGS in 2025 to 130 billion KGS by 2030.
For the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, the state intends to expand the list of free medical services, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baysalov emphasised in his speech at the Health Forum. The priorities for the coming years are women's and children's health, the introduction of prenatal and neonatal screening, and the strengthening of vaccination and disease prevention. The main goal is to increase the life expectancy of citizens.
Health Minister Erkin Chechebaev noted that investing in the health of the population is an investment in the sustainable future of the country.
Following the forum, a resolution was adopted to strengthen preventive programmes, develop the digitalisation of medicine, improve the qualifications of doctors, and ensure transparency in financing.
