The Cabinet of Ministers is hoping for an upgrade to Kyrgyzstan’s credit rating following a meeting with Moody’s

First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev discussed the macroeconomic situation and the prospects for a change in Kyrgyzstan’s credit rating with analysts from the international rating agency Moody’s, Anushka Shah and Marc-Antoine Gély.

The meeting covered the state of public finances, debt sustainability, ongoing reforms and the diversification of funding sources.

Amangeldiev emphasised the importance of an objective reflection of Kyrgyzstan’s economic indicators in international ratings. According to him, a rating upgrade would signal an improvement in the country’s macroeconomic situation and investment attractiveness.

The Cabinet of Ministers reported that over the past four years, average annual GDP growth stood at 10.2 per cent. In 2025, the country’s international reserves exceeded $10 billion for the first time, and in the first eight months of 2026, real GDP growth reached 11 per cent.

As part of the visit, Moody’s analysts will also hold meetings with representatives of government bodies to assess specific sectors of the economy and their prospects.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their dialogue.
