The Cabinet of Ministers has streamlined the government procurement process for electric vehicle charging stations

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has amended public procurement regulations to accelerate the development of electric vehicle infrastructure.

According to the resolution, a new provision has been added to the standard procurement procedure, allowing state and municipal enterprises, as well as companies with state ownership, to procure goods, works, and services for the creation and development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

This includes the construction and equipping of electric charging stations. Such procurements may be financed from the national and local budgets, as well as other sources not prohibited by law.

The changes are aimed at supporting the transition to a “green” economy and the development of electric transport in the country. Previously, procurement regulations did not contain a separate provision directly governing such projects.

The resolution will take effect seven days after its official publication.
