Bishkek's heat supply companies have been exempted from income tax and VAT

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has amended the procedure for applying tax incentives, adding the municipal enterprises “Bishkek Thermal Power Plant” and “Bishkek Heating Network” to the list of organizations exempt from corporate income tax and VAT.

The relevant amendments were made to the resolution dated April 30, 2022, regulating the application of the Tax Code and EAEU requirements.

Thus, key enterprises in the capital’s heat supply system have received tax preferences, which will allow them to reduce their financial burden. It is expected that the freed-up funds can be directed toward infrastructure modernization, network repairs, and preparations for the heating season.

In addition, the document clarifies terminology. The word “communal” has been replaced with “municipal,” bringing the wording into line with current legislation.
