The Kyrgyz Government Simplifies Procedures for Temporary Import and Use of Certain Medications and Medical Devices

The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved the Procedure for compiling and the criteria for excluding or including medicinal products and medical devices in a special list of temporarily permitted imports and medical applications without registration.

The resolution aims to simplify procedures for the temporary importation and use of pharmaceuticals and medical devices necessary for the healthcare system but lacking state registration in Kyrgyzstan or not imported for six or more months.

The document addresses the urgent need to respond swiftly to demand for medicines and medical devices, especially amid shortages of vital products registered and available on the market. Inclusion in this list allows for the temporary use of unregistered drugs and medical devices, thus ensuring access to treatment during emergencies and health crises.

The main criteria for inclusion are the absence of registered trade names and lack of importation for over six months. The application review process is conducted by a specially established commission, with its composition and procedures approved by the authorized healthcare authority.
