Adylbek Kasymaliyev Meets EBRD Vice President Matteo Patroni

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev held a meeting with Matteo Patrone, Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, who arrived in Bishkek on a working visit.

The main topics of discussion were the prospects for bilateral cooperation and the implementation of key projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure and private sector support.

Adylbek Kasymaliyev noted that the EBRD remains a reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan, having made a significant contribution to economic development and institutional reforms.

‘In the first nine months of this year, the country's GDP grew by 10%. Our goal is to bring the economy to $30 billion by 2030,’ the head of the cabinet of ministers emphasised.

He also presented the main directions of the National Development Programme until 2030, including industrialisation, the development of a transport and logistics hub, support for the agricultural sector, the promotion of tourism and the priority introduction of green technologies in the energy sector.

Among the major initiatives discussed at the meeting were the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Kambarata HPP-1 project, and a number of other infrastructure and energy projects of strategic importance for the country and the region.

EBRD Vice-President Matteo Patrone praised Kyrgyzstan's economic growth rate and expressed confidence that the country could become an important link in regional investment and energy chains.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening their partnership.
