Every second job seeker ends the year looking for a new job

For many job seekers in Kyrgyzstan, the end of the year has become less of a festive break and more of a time to re-evaluate their career path. According to a survey conducted by HeadHunter.kg among more than 200 job seekers, 45% of respondents end the working year actively looking for a new job.

The results of the study show that the emotional mood at the end of the year remains subdued. Almost half of those surveyed (45%) admitted to having mixed feelings, while another 30% described the year as calm, without any sharp ups and downs. At the same time, more than a quarter of respondents directly mention fatigue, and only 14% feel a sense of growth and new opportunities.

The pre-holiday period was not a time of slowdown for everyone. For 23%, the workload increased slightly, and 17% faced a noticeable increase in deadlines. Almost a third of the survey participants were not working at the time of the study, which also influenced their overall perception of the end of the year.

The question of professional achievements remains relevant, but not for everyone. Forty per cent of job seekers regularly analyse their achievements, while about a third either do not see the need for this or do not find the time to do so. This suggests that a culture of conscious professional reflection has not yet become universal in the country.

The most telling figures relate to the mood on the labour market. In addition to the 45% who are actively looking for work, another 39% are considering changing jobs or fields of activity, but are postponing taking active steps. Only 9% of respondents are completely satisfied with their current job, a figure that reflects a high level of uncertainty and demand for change.

Expectations for the new working year are primarily related to income and career. More than half of job seekers (56%) expect an increase in earnings and professional opportunities. At the same time, one in five is betting on stability, and 18% are waiting for new interesting projects. The demand for a more balanced work rhythm and a change in career path also remains significant.

As noted by analysts at HeadHunter.kg, for most job seekers, the end of the year is not the end, but a transitional stage. Fatigue, thoughts about the future, and active interest in new opportunities form the basis for changes in the labour market at the beginning of next year.
