05/26/2025, 15:02Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Ravshanbek Sabirov held a working meeting with Russian State Duma deputy and General Secretary of the All-Russian Confederation of Trade Unions Viktor Pinsky. They discussed the protection of migrant workers' rights, the development of social partnership, and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Sabirov recalled that an updated Labor Code has been in force in the country since 2025. It was prepared with the participation of social partners and is focused on international standards and a balance of interests between the state, business, and workers.
The parties paid special attention to strengthening social dialogue. Kyrgyzstan has a tripartite Republican Commission for the Regulation of Social and Labor Relations, and a new General Agreement for 2025–2027 is expected to be signed in the near future.
Speaking about labor migration, the minister emphasized Kyrgyzstan's readiness for bilateral control of migrants' working conditions, including the creation of mechanisms for monitoring and exchanging information.
“We are interested in protecting the rights of our citizens working in Russia and are ready to jointly prevent violations, from illegal dismissals to wage arrears,” he said.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation within the framework of the EAEU.
