Kyrgyzstan and China Southern Power Grid International have agreed to cooperate in the energy sector

Today, 13 August, a meeting took place in Bishkek between the Minister for Energy, Altynbek Rysbekov, and Zhang Heng, President of the Chinese energy company China Southern Power Grid International (HK) Co., Ltd.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the electricity sector, including the modernisation of energy infrastructure, the development of electricity grids, and the introduction of digital technologies and energy storage systems.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and China Southern Power Grid International signed a memorandum of understanding.

The document provides for the establishment of a joint working group to coordinate cooperation between the parties and identify promising projects for further technical and investment analysis.

It is expected that the cooperation will focus on developing Kyrgyzstan’s energy infrastructure and implementing joint projects in the electricity sector.
