Construction has begun on a school in Batken costing over 247 million KGS

At the Kyzyl-Zhol district administration office in Batken, a time capsule was laid in the foundations of a new school with a capacity of 375 pupils.

The event was attended by Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in the Batken Region; Seйтеk Kulubaev, Mayor of Batken; Kalybek Zhumadylov, Executive Director of the Agency for Community Development and Investment (ARIS); heads of state institutions; and local residents.

The total estimated cost of the school’s construction is over 247,418,000 KGS. ARIS is carrying out the construction of the educational facility.

The two-storey school will be built in accordance with modern standards. The building will house laboratories, specialist classrooms, a sports hall and an assembly hall, as well as a school resource centre.

A canteen, a football pitch, a multi-purpose sports ground for basketball and volleyball, a gymnastics area and an outdoor toilet block will also be provided for the pupils.

Lifts and special toilet facilities are provided for people with disabilities.

In addition, a water tank, a transformer substation and a diesel generator will be installed at the school. Fire safety systems, sanitary and engineering services will be fitted out, and the necessary equipment will be installed.

The school is scheduled to open in September 2027.
