07/09/2025, 15:23On July 7, 2025, a bilateral meeting was held in Luxembourg between a delegation from the State Financial Intelligence Service (SFIS) of the Kyrgyz Republic and representatives of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Luxembourg and the Ministry of Justice of the Grand Duchy. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 31st Plenary Meeting of the Egmont Group.
During the meeting, key areas of cooperation in the field of countering money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) were discussed. Particular attention was paid to issues of national and sectoral risk assessment, strategic analysis, the application of FATF standards, and the introduction of international practices in the activities of financial intelligence units.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the GFRS of Kyrgyzstan and the PFR of Luxembourg. The document reaffirmed the parties' commitment to exchanging experience, providing expert support, and implementing joint initiatives in the field of financial security.
