Prime Minister Adylbek Kassymaliyev Participates in Gypsum Board Plant Opening in Jalal-Abad Region

A new plasterboard factory was opened in the village of Dostuk, Suzak District, Jalal-Abad Region. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev, who emphasised that industrialisation remains a key area of development for the country. This year, more than 100 new enterprises are being launched in Kyrgyzstan, and industrial production grew by 9.8% in the first ten months of 2023, exceeding 595 billion KGS.

The new plant is strategically important for the construction industry: imports of gypsum products in the first nine months of 2025 amounted to 8.5 million square metres. The enterprise will reduce dependence on imports by supplying the market with high-quality domestic products. The production capacity is designed to produce 60,000 tonnes of gypsum powder and 10 million square metres of plasterboard sheets annually.

The project has created 80 permanent jobs, with investments totalling $11.7 million. The development of the construction industry stimulates demand for materials and creates new opportunities for the industrial sector, which directly affects the growth of gross domestic product — in the first ten months of 2023, it increased by 10%, reaching 1.4 trillion KGS.
