10/15/2024, 08:27The first meeting of the Republican Commission for the preparation and conduct of the 2025 agricultural census has been held. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev.
The meeting was attended by heads of key ministries and agencies, plenipotentiary representatives of the President in the oblasts, and the mayors of Bishkek and Osh.
The National Statistics Committee presented information on progress in census preparations, including the upcoming pilot census. This pilot phase is scheduled for November 2024 and will be implemented in two aiyl aimaks of the Aravan district of Osh oblast - Krasnaya Rechka and Milyanfan, as well as in the Issyk-Ata district of Chui oblast.
During the meeting, important aspects of the upcoming census were discussed, such as the development of an information campaign to raise public awareness, the creation of training materials for census enumerators and the provision of the necessary technical infrastructure.
Bakyt Torobaev emphasised the critical importance of the upcoming census, noting that it will provide up-to-date data on the country's agriculture. This information will be key in developing agricultural policy, forecasting harvests and planning investments in the agro-industrial sector.
After the meeting, the Commission approved an action plan, including an information campaign, training and technical support to ensure the success of the 2025 census.
