    Kyrgyzstan sent notes to China and the Netherlands over violations of phytosanitary requirements

    The Department of Chemicalisation, Protection and Quarantine of Plants reported that, according to the results of seven months, 29 cases of non-compliance with phytosanitary requirements were recorded in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service.

    As a result, 445.3 tonnes of goods, 70,515 seedlings and 11,387 flowers were returned, destroyed or disinfected.

    Non-compliant goods were received from:

    • Kazakhstan – 193.9 tonnes returned;
    • Russia – 69 tonnes;
    • from Uzbekistan – 80.82 tonnes and 70,515 seedlings;
    • from China – 26.13 tonnes and 8,050 flowers;
    • from other countries – 41.5 tonnes and 3,337 flowers.

    In connection with the violations identified, Kyrgyzstan has resorted not only to phytosanitary measures, but also to diplomatic mechanisms. Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, notes were sent through official channels to China and the Netherlands demanding compliance with international standards for the export of quarantine products.
