Kyrgyzstan increases investments mainly in construction and energy sector

In 2024, the volume of investments in fixed capital of Kyrgyzstan increased by 15% compared to the previous year. The main injections were directed to construction, transport infrastructure and the energy sector. Improved business climate and government support for entrepreneurs contributed to the growth of investment activity.

Construction became the key area of investment, increasing by 18% due to the development of residential and commercial facilities. Significant investments have also been made in the modernisation of roads and transport hubs, which should improve the country's logistics capabilities. In the energy sector, projects to develop hydroelectric power plants continue, which is particularly important in the context of growing electricity consumption.

Foreign investment in Kyrgyzstan is also growing, especially from EAEU countries and China. The mining, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors are the main areas of interest. At the same time, experts note that the country needs to work on increasing transparency and reducing administrative barriers to attract new partners.

In 2025, the government expects a further increase in investment, especially in manufacturing and the digital economy. The authorities plan to introduce new business support mechanisms, improve the legislative framework and create conditions for long-term growth of the country's investment attractiveness.
