Kyrgyzstan has overtaken Russia in terms of consolidated budget revenue to GDP ratio, according to EEC data

Kyrgyzstan has become the leader among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in terms of consolidated budget revenues as a percentage of GDP. This is evidenced by the updated figures from the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to the EEC, Kyrgyzstan's consolidated budget revenues amounted to 35.6% of GDP, while in Russia the corresponding figure is 35.3% of GDP. For Kyrgyzstan, this is the highest figure in recent years.

EAEU countries' indicators (consolidated budget revenues to GDP):

  • Kyrgyzstan — 35.6%;
  • Russia — 35.3%;
  • Armenia — 26.5%;
  • Kazakhstan — 20.1%;
  • Belarus — no data available.

Thus, Kyrgyzstan has surpassed the union's largest economy in terms of relative budget revenue for the first time.

In recent years, the share of Kyrgyzstan's budget revenue to GDP has increased from 29.2% in 2020 to 35.6% in 2024. In Russia, on the contrary, the indicator has decreased compared to previous periods — earlier it reached 35.7%.
