02/17/2026, 13:00The global ranking of countries by average IQ for 2026 has been published. It is based on more than 1.2 million online tests taken by users in 2025.
Kyrgyzstan ranked 93rd with an average score of 94.48 points, 0.37 points lower than last year's result.
The countries of Central Asia are ranked as follows:
Uzbekistan became the leader, displacing Kazakhstan from its position as the favorite. At the same time, its score deteriorated by 0.28 points over the year, but the decline was even more noticeable in Kazakhstan, at 1.25 points. This is due to the fact that the number of Kazakhstani participants increased 2.2 times and reached 12,600 people (in Uzbekistan, only 4,700 people).
Central Asia ended up in the middle of the global list, but below the global average (100). At the same time, the gap between neighbors is small — in fact, we are talking about a few points.
An important detail is that in many countries, including Kyrgyzstan (+87%), the number of test participants increased. This almost always leads to a slight decrease in the average result — the indicator becomes less “impressive” but more realistic.
In addition, Turkmenistan showed the highest result technically, with 98.8 points. However, the country was excluded from the official list because only 10 people took the test. This is too small a sample to draw any conclusions.
Asia once again topped the ranking:
Overall, in 84.8% of countries, the changes over the year were minimal — less than two points.
We should add that differences in IQ often reflect not innate abilities, but the quality of education, healthcare, nutrition, and living conditions. Therefore, rankings of this kind are more indicative of a society's level of development than of the “intelligence of the nation.”
