05/21/2026, 10:06Cabbage exports from Kyrgyzstan fell sharply between January and March 2026. The volume of shipments fell by 55.4% — from 2,772.6 to 1,236.4 tonnes. In monetary terms, the decline amounted to 54.1% — from $568,500 to $261,200.
Russia remains the main buyer. A total of 1,159.4 tonnes of cabbage worth $249,800 were shipped there. Compared to last year, the volume of shipments to Russia fell by 51.7%.
Exports to Kazakhstan fell even more sharply — by 85.2% at a stroke, from 352.4 to 52 tonnes. Shipments to Poland ceased entirely, although 21.5 tonnes were exported there a year ago.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan began supplying Uzbekistan — 25 tonnes worth $2,500. Last year, there were no exports in this direction.
In terms of price per tonne, Kyrgyz cabbage was sold most expensively to Russia — at approximately $215.5 per tonne. The price to Kazakhstan was around $169 per tonne, whilst cabbage was sold cheapest to Uzbekistan — at $100 per tonne.
By way of comparison, last year the average export price for cabbage was around $205 per tonne, whilst this year it has risen to approximately $211 per tonne.
