08/14/2026, 10:11On August 13, the seventh meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union’s Council on Agro-Industrial Policy was held in Almaty. Representatives of the EAEU member states participated in the event. Kyrgyzstan was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Erlist Akunbekov.
During his speech, Erlist Akunbekov outlined the key areas for the further development of agro-industrial cooperation within the EAEU. Among the priorities, he highlighted the expansion of mutual trade, the implementation of joint cooperation projects, the adoption of modern agricultural technologies and digital solutions, as well as the removal of unjustified administrative and technical barriers.
“The potential of the EAEU lies not only in expanding mutual trade, but also in forming joint production chains, developing processing, transferring technology, and implementing investment projects,” the minister noted.
Special attention was given to ensuring that Kyrgyz enterprises have access to financial support mechanisms for joint projects in the agro-industrial sector.
According to Akunbekov, the implementation of such projects will help create new production chains, increase processing volumes and mutual trade, and strengthen food security in the EAEU member states.
By the end of 2025, the volume of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and EAEU member states amounted to $832.2 million.
