Construction in Kyrgyzstan grew by 60.6% over seven months

Construction became the fastest-growing sector of Kyrgyzstan’s economy in the period from January to July 2026. The volume of construction work increased by 60.6 per cent compared with the same period last year, reaching 96 billion KGS. The sector’s share of GDP rose from 6.2 per cent to 8.2 per cent.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP for the seven-month period stood at 1 trillion 172.7 billion KGS, an increase of 11.1 per cent year-on-year. In addition to construction, the industrial sector showed significant growth of 11.1 per cent. Within the industrial sector, mining and quarrying increased by 16.9 per cent, manufacturing by 11.8 per cent, and water supply, sewage and waste management by 17.3 per cent.

Growth in the services sector was more moderate, at 6.1 per cent. Wholesale and retail trade grew by 8.4 per cent, hotels and restaurants by 9.6 per cent, information and communications by 7.4 per cent, and transport and storage by 4.2 per cent. Agriculture, forestry and fishing grew by 6 per cent, although the sector’s share of GDP fell from 6.7 per cent to 6.4 per cent.
