Kyrgyzstan sells millions of liters of gasoline to Afghanistan

In January–August, Kyrgyzstan exported almost twice as much motor gasoline as in the same period last year. This is according to data from the National Statistical Committee.

According to official statistics, the volume of supplies amounted to 65.5 million litres worth 2.6 billion KGS, while a year earlier it was 35.3 million litres worth 1.4 billion KGS. Most of Kyrgyz petrol goes to Afghanistan – 59.3 million litres worth 2.36 billion KGS. A year ago, 30.2 million litres worth 1.18 billion KGS were exported there.

In 2025, new destinations appeared – Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. 1.27 million litres of petrol worth 48.7 million KGS were delivered to Tajikistan, whereas a year ago there were no deliveries. Exports to Uzbekistan decreased slightly — 4.96 million litres compared to 5.07 million litres a year earlier, but in monetary terms the difference is insignificant.

According to statistics, the average price of petrol sold is about 40 KGS per litre, which probably indicates low fuel quality. Given that Kyrgyzneftegaz does not sell its petrol abroad, as previously reported, and that Junda has not yet entered the foreign market, it is unclear whose petrol and what brand we are selling.

It should be noted that the republic receives the bulk of its petrol under a preferential supply agreement with Russia. Under this agreement, Kyrgyzstan does not have the right to sell it to other countries.

It should be noted that fuel exports are growing amid problems with petrol supplies at petrol stations.
