This was stated by Adylbek Kasymaliev, who noted that local producers are capable of supplying fish farms and exporting their products.
There are four enterprises operating in the country: ‘Tian-Shan Trout’, ‘Salikh Ltd’, ‘Bio Zhem’ and ‘Aqua Vin’. The total investment in these enterprises amounts to $15.83 million, and they employ around 120 people.
According to the report, around 25 per cent of the feed components are produced locally, whilst the remaining 75 per cent are imported. Domestic production has risen from 590 tonnes in 2022 to 5,500 tonnes over the first nine months of 2026.
Kasymaliev also stated that the results of sample analyses carried out in Almaty revealed no differences in quality between domestic and imported feed. He urged fish farms to purchase locally produced products.
