05/21/2026, 09:13President Sadyr Zhaparov ratified the Agreement among the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the SCO Anti-Narcotics Center. The document was signed on September 1, 2025, in Tianjin, China.
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on April 22, 2026.
According to the document, the SCO Anti-Narcotics Center will be located in Dushanbe. It is expected that the center will serve as a coordination platform for cooperation between law enforcement and special agencies of the organization’s member states.
It is expected that the implementation of the agreement will strengthen the fight against transnational drug crime, expand the exchange of operational information among SCO countries, and increase the effectiveness of joint anti-drug operations.
In addition, the ratification of the agreement is viewed as the republic’s contribution to strengthening regional security.
